I just found my first surf edit I ever made from about 6 years back. This edit features Ian from when we first started working together, Nalu Wallace, Jamie O'Brien, Clay Marzo, Luke Walsh, and Matt Kinoshita (not in that order). I am not saying that I am good at what I am doing now but I am at least proud that I have improved HAHA...sorry for the poor quality of video, please enjoy...

In one of the cooler ideas to hit surfing in a long time, the Red Bull Soundwave production used hi-tech underwater microphones stitched into tow vests to capture the sounds of Jaws. This allows spectators to be place smack dab in the middle of a 30 ski lineup and hear the 'banter' that goes on between tow partners and different tow teams. The microphones also allow you to hear exactly what Ian is saying and going through as you watch him ride each wave. With all of the advancements in capturing surfing sights it is nice to see a huge leap forward in capturing the audio of big wave surfing. Enjoy Ian in episode 1 of Red Bull Soundwave...

In case you have been living in a cave for the past two months and have not heard yet, Ian got the cover of Surfer magazine. This is something every kid who starts surfing dreams of someday achieving. This is an awesome honor and a pretty sick looking magazine cover. Check out the video describing Ian's new cover shot!!
